Treatment Needs Assessment

Begin your recovery with a comprehensive, confidential evaluation

Understanding Where Recovery Begins

At Buffalo Plains Recovery, every client begins with a comprehensive Treatment Needs Assessment — also called an evaluation. This in-depth process helps our licensed clinicians understand your history, goals, and needs so we can recommend the most appropriate level of care.

Our assessments are confidential, compassionate, and personalized — designed to help you or your loved one take the first step toward lasting recovery.

What to Expect During an Evaluation

Your evaluation appointment typically lasts 90 – 120 minutes and includes:

Clinical Interview

A guided conversation covering your substance-use history, medical background, medications, and prior treatment experiences.

Assessment Tools

Standardized instruments to identify co-occurring conditions and specific risk factors.

Treatment Recommendations

Our clinician will determine whether detox, residential, partial hospitalization (PHP), or outpatient care is most appropriate.

Next Steps

If you’re ready, we can immediately coordinate admission or schedule your first outpatient session.
Our goal is to make this process simple, supportive, and judgment-free — helping you take the next right step toward recovery.
